Rachel Auten, LMSW

Rachel Auten is the Director for Student Support and Case Management. In this role, Rachel provides support and assistance to students experiencing difficulty while at KU by connecting them to resources, people, and policies that may be beneficial. Rachel serves as a member of the Student Care Referral Team which addresses concerns for students and the greater KU community. As a licensed social worker and case manager, Rachel works towards a holistic approach to student success, including empowering students to have their academic, physical, and mental health needs met while at the University.

Rachel received a Bachelor of Social Work degree from KU and a Master of Arts in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. Prior to returning to KU, Rachel worked as an in-home therapist and supervisor in child welfare. Rachel is trained in suicide prevention and mental health first aid.
